Misplaced & Misrepresented Viridian

August 1st, 2009 · 3 Comments

Go to the Viridian in Greenpoint and ask the brokers working in the rental office who they work for.  They will say Viridian.  Look up their names and you will see that the agents actually work for bankrupt Citispaces.  The first time I entered the very impressive luxury residence I was blown away by the amenities, condo rental layouts, and views.  A huge pool, sauna, garden, garage, and fitness center are just some of the amenities that the Viridian offers to tenants……but when can a renter expect to use the amenities?  As construction seems to be moving along slowly, the agents still insist that the building will be fully functioning within just a few weeks.  This information seems a bit odd, especially coming from an agent wearing ‘over the hill’ shoes, stained pants, and a wrinkled button up.  The word on the street; Viridian was in foreclosure->it is currently being rented by sketchy agents->something feels odd.  Beware!

The Viridian has come a long way since the early days. I just wanted to submit an update that in the past 2 months the building was bought out of bankruptcy by a new owner/manager and that many positive changes have been made. Please check out our new website at http://www.RentViridian.com where you can see all of the available apartments.

The above posting is still accurate! The sketchy realator advertised the building as NO FEE and then took our last months rent check as a commission and now we are out $2,650

The amenities are just a facade, this building is run terribly. We never received appliances guaranteed to us in our lease. Our washer and dryer broke and we were without it for over 4 months. We were told by the building manager to submit our receipts and we would be reimbursed for our laundry service. When we submitted our receipts and deducted from rent. They refused to deduct the charges and then charged a late fee!

The building was submetered with out us knowing. The electricity bills are out the roof because we are also paying for all of the common areas and administrative fees.

With any complaint, it takes months for a response!

Also, their negative yelp reviews have all mysteriously disapeared.

    You have been warned!

Indeed. Check out http://viridiangripes.wordpress.com to see what current tenants are saying about the building and its management.
