I recently viewed a 1.5 bedroom railroad Williamsburg apartment rental located on Bedford Avenue that is not only overpriced at $2,500, but also misrepresented as a 2 bedroom. The northside property needs serious renovation as it’s potential charm is overshadowed by discolored paint, cracked sheet rock, and very old beat up parquet flooring. The space is indeed excellent as the corner unit boasts over 800sqft of living space and tons of windows, however an inquirer can find luxury condo rentals with amenities, in-unit laundry, and the works, for the same rental amount. Why are many owners trying to get the same rental amount that they received in 2008 when the economy and real estate market is clearly not where it was? Some landlords are out of touch, and as their rentals sit vacant they lose potential collected money, only to eventually rent their units at current market value. One business with over priced product that seems to be doing quite well is the Bedford Cheese Shop located on the corner of Bedford Avenue and North 5th Street.

In my opinion, the Bedford Cheese Shop is the best cheese monger locale in all of New York City. The old fashioned shop is dedicated to providing the finest quality cheeses and condiments selected from locations worldwide. While I must admit that the staff is a bit stuffy, their knowledge of the product they sell is truly impressive. Each employee is rigorously trained in the art of cheese selection, composition, and proper care so that you can be assured of receiving the cheese in the best possible condition. I have tried about 10 of their 50 or so options and find that every time I pay a visit to the high end shop I become more addicted to the variety of cheeses and flavors that can be enjoyed. Newbies beware; while the Bedford Cheese Shop selection is absolutely delicious, it may indeed take some time to become acquainted with the exquisite cheeses. The Bedford Cheese Shop is pricey, but with such amazing quality product I give the locale a 5 out of 5.
