A cluster of new complexes sit on the corner of Union Ave & Hope St.  While a few of the large buildings are still under construction, 140 & 156 Hope St are almost completely occupied.  Both buildings, coined the Espoir, offer spacious apartments with quality finishes and great amenities including a clubroom with Billiards and very large Roof Deck.  The particular 3rd floor 1 bedroom seen above offers a great layout, plenty of square footage, and balcony.  At first sight, photographs of the Williamsburg condo rental did not truly capture my attention, however after a walk through I was enamored by quality finishes and tasteful decor throughout the complex.  For about $2,300 the unit is a good option for any individual or couple seeking a new condo rental in the neighborhood.  Although living on Union Ave may not be absolutely ideal, the Hope St location boasts close proximity to the Lorimer L Train (about 2.5 blocks) and some great locales such as Union Pool Bar, Sunac Market, a few small Mexican eateries, and Dumont Restaurant.

Most Williamsburgites are very familiar with Dumont, the New American Cuisine Restaurant located on 432 Union Ave. The restaurant has seen its following grow since it’s inception 7 years ago.  I have enjoyed many experiences eating at Dumont & it’s sister burger shack, Dumont Burger on Bedford Ave.  Dumont’s delectable menu, designed by Executive Chef Polo Dobkin, consists of seasonal dishes featuring market fresh ingredients which nicely compliment the regular fare.  Favorite dishes include the popular lardon studded Dumac & Cheese,  grilled NY Strip Steak, and Roasted Organic Chicken with pan jus.  The outdoor garden is spacious and always busy during Sat/Sun brunch hours . . .yumm . . . I recommend a Bloody.  The original tin ceiling, old wooden bar, and large Victorian chandeliers suit the environment.  If you are new to the neighborhood Dumont is a Must-Go-To Restaurant.  I give Dumont an A-.
