What ever happened to those weeks of spring time weather when you could lay down on a fresh patch of grass and enjoy a 70 degree breeze combing through your hair. If I recall, last year the spring was almost completely bypassed as many tossed their winter coats in storage, swapping the heavy garments for t-shirts and wife-beaters(is that not politically correct? sorry tank tops). Over the course of the last weekend in April temperatures surged to 88 degrees…..weuhhh. Sweat was accumulating on the foreheads many as people trucked down the sidewalk to their neighborhood ice cream boutiques and watering holes. I thought McCarren park, in Williamsburg, would be a good place to relax in the partial shade of these beautiful blossoming trees. McCarren park is a hot spot destination not to be missed as it hosts many activities and events through the spring, summer, and fall months.
